30.08.2000, 00:00 9

The Embassy of Israel is to organise between September 12-13 a symposium entitled "Israel in Romania 2000" aimed at Romanian-Israeli economic ties. The event will focus on high-technology in the domain of communications and on agricultural technology.

"High officials within the state administration, within the Romanian business milieu, Israeli officials, as well as businessmen interested in cooperation with Israel are invited to attend this manifestation," reads a statement released by Israel's Embassy.

The central idea of this symposium is offering Romanian companies the possibility of establishing separate business contacts with participants, in an organised space (World Trade Plaza), according to a jointly settled schedule. Many projects presented at this symposium benefit from credit lines opened by Israeli banks.

"During the first day of the event, two workshops are organised in parallel (agricultural technology and telecommunications), opened by officials from the two countries' profile ministries," according to Israel's Embassy.

Important Israeli companies such as Irrigation, Technoplast, Giganet, Allot Communications, Rit Technologies, Breeze, Com. Ltd., Netafim or Mahtesim Agan announced their presence.

At the same time, the Romanian Trade and Industry Ministry will organise during the period September 18-21 at Romexpo a pavilion reuniting firms of the two countries within the Plasto Ispak exhibition.
