Industrial production, one of the leading indicators in theeconomy, continued to rise in September, but at a slower pace,while the volume of construction works remained in negativeterritory.
According to data of the National Statistics Institute (INS),industrial production was up by 1% in September against August andby 2.8% against the similar period of last year as seasonallyadjusted series and as series adjusted for the number of workingdays.
Analysts anticipated a slowdown in the industry growth rate in thelast few months of the year as a result of the constantdeterioration in the expectations of economic operators and as aresult of the slow recovery of Romania's main foreign tradepartners.
Since it returned to growth, in November last year, industrialproduction has been fluctuating significantly from month tomonth.
