" The shop is similar to those in the Western Europe, as the Boss representatives put the equipment together, took care of the lighting and anything else, " Victor Sarkis, general manager of Papillon Beauty Fashion, the holder of the franchise for Romania, said.
The first exclusive Hugo Boss shop in Romania is located on Calea Victoriei and takes up 280 square metres. It opened at the end of this January, following a 450,000 dollar investment. This year's sales figures are projected to reach nearly 2 million dollars.
"We will open another shop in Bucharest this year and it will not be inside a shopping complex. A brand like Hugo Boss must necessarily have its own store. If the market is helpful enough, we will also bring other major brands such as Cerutti or Moschino in Romania," Sarkis said.
He explained Hugo Boss products had been available in Romania even before the opening of the store. "We are offering the newest collections and not last year's or older fashion like other shops do. In other words, we got the exclusive rights for Hugo Boss in Romania, so that the collections available in Paris shops are also available here. Furthermore, any Hugo Boss product entering Romania will have to be checked by us," Sarkis added.
Papillon Beauty Fashion is part of the Sarkis Group, which owns the largest distribution company in Romania, Interbrands. Interbrands registers more than 400 million euro in annual turnover, which makes it one of the top ten companies in Romania in this regard.
A Hugo Boss suit starts at 400-450 dollars and may go up to 2,000 dollars depending on the model and fabric. Besides the Boss and Hugo lines, the shop on Calea Victoriei will also offer products part of the group's deluxe line, Baldissarini.
