20.06.2006, 21:03 11

Asigurari Global, which resumed operations at the end of last year, operated a capital increase worth 3 million RON (0.85 million euros), to 8 million RON (almost 2.3 million euros). The increase was performed in order to comply with the norms of the Insurance Supervision Commission (CSA). The norms stipulate that a company, which provides general insurance services, with the exception of mandatory ones, must have a share capital worth at least 8 million RON starting July. The majority shareholder of Asigurari Global is Generalcom, a company involved in renting buildings, with 83%, while the rest of the shares are held by one individual and three legal entities from Portugal. The only shareholder that took part in the insurer's capital increase is Generalcom, which previously held 72.8% of the capital of Asigurari Global.
