Furniture retailer KIKA takes out 50m-euro loan

KIKA, the Austrian furniture and interior decorations retailer has been granted funding worth 50 million euros from Immoconsult, the real estate leasing division of Investkredit Bank, with which it plans to build three stores in Romania. "In the first half of the year, the real estate leasing company Immoconsult signed contracts to grant total funding worth 108 million euros. Among the largest amount of funding granted was the funding for three new KIKA furniture stores in Romania, worth 50 million euros," reads the half-year financial report for Investkredit Bank, a division of Volksbank. KIKA representatives confirmed, for ZF, that the 50 million euros are destined to fund three stores in Romania. The first is set to open in the autumn of 2008, with the other two to be completed in spring 2009. Company representatives also stated that the expansion plan would involve other stores, in the future.
