Egnatia Leasing funded goods worth 43 million euros in the first quarter of this year, three times the amount for the same period in 2006. The funding occurred amid a high demand on the segment of construction equipment, stated the company's general manager, Haralambie Stanciu. The company, a division of Egnatia Bank, closed around 1,000 contracts in the first three months of this year amounting to 51.5 million euros in total (interests and commissions included), an increase from 15 million euros against the same period last year. The turnover stood at 2.6 million euros and the net profit at 221,000 euros - almost half the level seen for the whole of last year when the company
went from losses to a profit standing at 550,000 euros.
