EBRD negotiates equity investment in Fildas

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), at the end of last year, approved the start of negotiations for an equity investment worth 12 million euros in pharmaceutical group Fildas, according to an announcement published on the EBRD website. "They have indeed started negotiations with us, which could last until the end of this year," stated Anca Vlad, majority shareholder of Fildas group of firms. Last year, Anca Vlad said she could sell a minority stake and that she was not considering giving up control of the business. The main business of the Fildas group is conducted through drug distributor Fildas Trading. In addition, the group also includes the Catena drugstore chain. The Fildas group intends to take out a loan of up to 80 million euros, according to information published in the Official Gazette. The sums that the company is to get from banks are to be used in the company's activity. The Fildas group is the second major player involved in the local pharmaceutical industry to have lately attracted significant funding.
