21.06.2005, 18:54 13

Bacau-based Dedeman, a company that sells construction supplies, inaugurated a shopping centre in Vaslui at the end of last week, with another store in Braila scheduled to be opened by the end of this year. Entry on the Bucharest market is planned for 2006. "Our investment in the hypermarket in Vaslui amounts to 2 million euros. We will have another store in Braila by yearend and are to begin works on a hypermarket in Bucharest in a matter of days," stated Catalin Ivan, Dedeman''s marketing manager. The expansion of the network relies on the strong development of the construction supplies market and of the demand for loans to purchase homes and for construction works. The Vaslui store sells more than 40,0000 products displayed over a 5,800-sqm area. The products include electrical machinery and tools, hardware, sanitary items, flooring and wall tiles, plywood, lighting equipment, paints and decorations. Dedeman currently comprises stores, warehouses, showrooms and shopping centres in Bacau, Iasi, Suceava, Onesti, Comanesti and Roman. The company is fully owned by two businessmen, Dragos and Adrian Paval. ZF
