Bunge, leader of the domestic vegetable oil market, could receive 3 to 6 million euros for the 60,000 square-metre area of land belonging to the Interoil plant, located in Oradea, which will close at the beginning of September. "On September 1st we will end our industrial operations there and retain around 15-20 employees for another month or two in order to clean up the plant. After this period is over, the most likely option for the company will be to sell the land and give up the rest of the assets," said Michael Whitney, general manager of the company. The plant in Oradea is located on a plot covering around 15,000 square metres, with the total surface of the land standing at 60,000 square metres. According to sources from the market, in the area where the Oradea-based Bunge plant is located, the price of one square metre of land varies from 50 to 100 euros, which means that following the sale of the land; Bunge could collect 3 to 6 million euros. The American group sold another plot at the end of 2006, from which it collected around 30 million euros. Bunge also sold the six-hectare land where the Muntenia Bucuresti plant was formerly located to the Spanish real estate development group GEA Prasa.
