Beauty Shop looks to 10m-euro turnover

The Beauty Shop chain of cosmetics and perfume stores concluded last year with eight million euros in turnover. For 2005 turnover is expected to exceed 10 million euros. After entering the Romanian market in 2000, the Beauty Shop company, which is controlled by Sephora from France, has opened one store each year and now has four stores in Bucharest and one in Constanta. Sephora France is a division of the Moet Hennessy Louis Vutton (LVMH) international group, one of the world''s leading players in the luxury goods industry. Another such company to enter Romania in 2000 is the UK''s Marks & Spencer (M&S), which so far has opened two fashion shops, both situated in Bucharest. They are planning to open two more stores this year. Marks & Spencer''s Romanian stores had a 4 million euro turnover last year, with turnover expected to exceed 5 million euros in 2005. Both the Marks & Spencer and Beauty Shop stores in Romania belong to Greek Marinopoulos Group, the owner of the M&S franchise for Greece and Eastern Europe. ZF
