Aircraft manufacturer Avioane Craiova made more than 10 million RON (2.8 million euro) turnover in the first seven months, double the sales in the corresponding period of 2004. Avioane Craiova estimates turnover of more than 17 million RON for 2005, due to expansion on new foreign markets. "We signed a major deal with a customer from Israel and we will increase the sales made to Belgium and the Netherlands. Out of the 17 million RON in annual sales, more than 4 million RON will come from exports. We are already talking 20-25% share of the exports in the total production," Vilceanu Pantelimon, the company''s general manager said. The company successfully cut its losses in the first half to 1.2 million euros RON (327,000 euros) from the 2.8 million RON in the first six months of 2004. "The reduction of the losses is the outcome of the completion of the streamlining process. We are confident losses will be offset by the end of the year. The annual profit will not be large but will be made nonetheless," Vilceanu said. ZF
