Aon's business up 37%

13.02.2007, 19:07 7

Insurance broker Aon Romania last year posted a 7.5 million-RON (2.1 million-euro) turnover, up 37% against the figure for 2005. "The value of insurance and reinsurance premiums brokered in 2006 stood at approximately 77 million RON (21.8 million euros), up by some 50% in comparison with the previous year. The growth was generated both by the winning of new clients, as well as by an increased activity of the already existing ones," Karina Rosu, general manager of Aon Romania told ZF. She said that last year the company posted a profit, despite additional costs relating to integration into the Aon group, though she did not reveal the value. Rosu estimates Aon holds an 8% share of the market, and that next year, the company's business will maintain a growth rate similar to that of the market. At the beginning of the year, in an attempt to set up a global platform to conduct certain administrative activities in Romania, the Aon group announced its intention to relocate some of the positions in Aon France's offices to Romania.
