Aerotravel sees 40% growth

Aerotravel, the holder of the Lufthansa City Center International franchise for the Romanian market, has posted a 16 million euro turnover for last year, representing an increase of nearly 40% on the previous yeara??s 11.5 million euros (13 million dollars). a??The increase in sales was due to the expansion of the number of offices, following the opening of the Sibiu office towards the end of 2003. We intend to attain 20% growth this year,a?? said Claudia Stan, Aerotravela??s marketing manager. Aerotravel has six offices, two in Bucharest, and one each in Timisoara, Cluj, Oradea and Sibiu. About 20% its 2004 turnover was derived from tourism. a??We are thinking of expanding to Brasov, Moldova and Constanta, but have not taken a decision on this.a?? Aerotravel bought the Lufthansa City Center International franchise, a chain of travel agencies established by the German airline, Lufthansa, in 2000. a??As members of this network, we can benefit from the whole of the underlying tourism infrastructure. We permanently keep in touch with the over 500 agencies in 55 countries of the world,a?? added Stan. ZF
