23m euro turnover for Mondial Lugoj

Mondial Lugoj, one of Romania's leading ceramic tiles and sanitary items producers logged 718bn ROL (22.9 million euros) in 2002 net revenues, while net profit amounted to 115bn ROL (3.6 million euros), Daniel Munteanu, company manager told Ziarul Financiar. Mondial is held by the German Vileroy & Boch Group and estimates to see turnover reach some 24-25 million euros this year. "We will invest approximately one million euros this year to improve the quality of our products and develop new productive capacities," Munteanu said. Mondial officials say the company accounted for about 55% of the sanitary items market by June 1, 2002. It is also the third-largest domestic ceramic tiles maker, after Sanex Cluj-Napoca and Cesarom Bucharest, competing on a market estimated to be worth about $90 million in 2002. ZF
