Trust Motors, Peugeot's importer on the local market, forecasts a 230 million-euro turnover this year, up 0.6% against last year. "Our target for 2008 is to sell 18,500 vehicles, almost 10% more than last year, with forecast turnover to stand at 230 million euros," Radu Cristian, commercial manager of Trust Motors, told ZF. The importer posted net profit worth 18.6 million euros last year, up 34.5% on 2006. In the first four months of the year, sales of Peugeot cars and commercial vehicles on the Romanian market were up 3.7% and reached 4,608 units. Last year, Trust Motors sold 16,959 units, both cars and utility vehicles, up 29% against 2006, when it delivered 13,119 units. There are currently 21 Peugeot dealerships that cover 42 cities. According to Trust Motors officials, new full service dealerships will open by the end of this year, which include a showroom, a service centre and a storage facility, in Focsani, Turnu Severin, Targoviste, as well as in Iasi, which will house a second showroom.
