20% growth for Teraplast in H1

10.11.2006, 19:26 8

Bistrita-based Teraplast, one of the main players on the local PVC market, posted turnover worth 16 million euros in the first half of this year, a 20% increase against 2005. At the beginning of this year, company representatives estimated a 42 million-euro turnover, up 35% against last year. "Our policy to retool and to adapt to the market's needs, by reinvesting part of our profit to establish other smaller companies, which would in turn develop various manufacturing sectors, has been behind the growth. We have orders to produce PVC profiles, PVC interior doors, AL windows and doors, for countries like Hungary, Moldova, Italy and Slovenia," said Dan Gheorghe, financial manager of the company. Exports account for some 10% of Teraplast's total turnover. The company plans to invest over 5 million euros, especially in technological improvement and in expanding logistical capacity this year. Investments made in 2005 stood at approximately 2.7 million euros, and went into retooling, with a view to expand the range of products produced.
