Vinexport Focsani, one of the main wine producers on the local market, posted a 10.8 million-RON (2.9 million-euro) turnover in the first three months of this year, up 6.83% against the same time in 2007. "The main reasons behind this growth were the expansion of the distribution network and of the product portfolio," said company representatives. The company produces such varieties as Feteasca Neagra, Babeasca Neagra, Sauvignon Blanc, Galbena de Odobesti, Feteasca Regala, Muscat Ottonel, Cabernet Sauvignon and Italian Riesling. In the first quarter of the year, the best-selling brands were Hangita, Weisser, Ghiurghiuliu, and Vin de Masa, which secured the company a 6.85% market share at the end of March. Vinexport has vineyards in the Dealurile Vrancei and Dealurile Moldovei regions, both in company-owned and rented areas, which cover 500 hectares in total.
