Opportunity to study Romanian

The University of Bucharest organises at Sinaia, between July 20 - August 16, the 41st Session of the Summer Courses and Symposia on the Romanian People's Language, Literature, History and Art.

The courses are open to students, researcher professors in philology, as well as to any other foreign person that is interested in the study of the Romanian language, literature and civilisation.

To subscribe to these classes the fee is $ 980 and is to be paid on arrival, at the Secretariat of the Courses. You also have to fill in a registration form by June 17 and send it to Bucharest. You can obtain the form by sending an e-mail to jiglau@yahoo.com. The visa can be obtained at the participants' request, at the Romanian Consulates or Embassies abroad.

They will be checked in at hotel International, the accommodation being included in the fee, together with the meals and the cultural programme. However, transportation must be paid by the student.

Candidates will have the opportunity to choose between intensive Romanian language classes for beginners, intermediate and advanced, classes in linguistic, etnography, anthropology and philosophy of the Romanian people. The seminars will be held by professors of the University of Bucharest.

During their stay at Sinaia, the students may enjoy the region of the Bucegi Mountains and its surroundings. The cultural programme will include meetings with writers and representatives of the Romanian culture.
