An increase in the customer base and in the share of post-sale services in the turnover structure were the main points of the strategy enforced this year by management solutions supplier WizRom Software.
"Expansion came first, and then we focused on boosting the turnover," WizRom general manager Cristian Udrescu said.
The company opened new branches this year in Turkey and Bulgaria, which added to offices previously launched by WizRom in Bratislava and Kishinev. The company officials are not planning to open any other subsidiaries abroad for the time being, as they aim at consolidating the existing network. "We also tried to open a branch in Ukraine, but we gave up as risks were too high," the company's manager mentioned.
The number of new clients went up 96% this year, whereas the licence sales climbed 51%, Udrescu added. Service revenues (post-sale technical consulting) went up 150%.
WizRom's latest clients comprise Samus Mex and Isopor (of the Mobexpert group), Elite Romania, Beverages Distribution Group and the Walmark supermarket chain.
Independent surveys reveal WizRom holds about 20% market share, the company's manager also said.
Cristian Udrescu estimated the domestic business management market to have increased 15% - 20% this year from 2002.
WizRom Software entered the market in 1992, and teamed up with international software companies such as WizSoft Inc., Eshbel Technologies and Retalix. The Romanian company sells and implements management solutions such as the enterprise resource planning (ERP), the sale force automation (SFA) or the clients relation management (CRM).
Moreover, WizRom sells software solutions for the leasing and tourism industry. The customer portfolio exceeds 1,000 companies and comprises Kvaerner IMGB, Omniasig, Japan Tobacco International (JTI) and Interbrands. victor@zf.ro
