UPC Romania, ranking secondon Romania's TV market, last year generated revenues worth 160.5mdollars (121m euros), almost 2% lower than in the previous year.2010 was thus the third year in a row when the operator saw itsrevenues go down, according to the preliminary financial datapublished by Liberty Global US group, the company'sowner.
On the other hand, LibertyGlobal data show the Romanian subsidiary managed to curb therevenue decline rate to around 2% from 15% and 16% in 2009 and2008. With turnover worth 160.5m dollars (121.1m euros) in 2010,UPC Romania's revenues almost matched the ones posted in 2009, of123.4m euros.
As UPC Romania last year sawits total number of subscriptions go down by 7%, a major role inthe lower revenue drop rate was probably played by the risingnumber of users who bought more expensive services, such as HDtelevision or the DVR.
