Unita bets on life insurance

Unita Timisoara insurance company plans to launch a more extensive development programme aimed at the life insurance segment and comprising mainly products with an accumulation component, next year, stated Aurelia Cristea, sales manager with the insurance company. "We will penetrate the life insurance market more deeply, both by re-launching our current products and by developing new products focusing on the accumulation component," Cristea said. She believes the life insurance market has considerable potential, even though this segment has a leader that accounts for more than 50% of the total revenues and the other top positions are held by powerful companies. Unita's life insurance-related revenues in the first half of this year rose by 8.7% in real terms, but they only account for 9% of total revenues derived from the sale of insurance policies. So far, Unita has launched five life insurance products. ZF
