UniCredit Leasing sees triple growth

UniCredit Leasing estimates 36% growth in the value of contracts concluded this year, up to 200 million euros. UniCredit Leasing last year closed leasing contracts worth 147 million euros, 84% more than in 2004. The company reported net profit of 5.2 million euros for 2005, an over three-fold increase against the previous year. Half the contracts concluded last year by UniCredit Leasing were for the acquisition of industrial equipment. Contracts to fund the acquisition of automobiles account for 45% of the company''s portfolio, with the remaining 5% being real estate leasing contracts. UniCredit assets reached 189.4 million euros at the end of last year, an almost 80% growth on the previous year. In 2004, company assets stood at 105.4 million euros. In 2005, UnitCredit Leasing won the public auction organised by the Ministry of Justice and the Public Ministry to fund acquisition of IT equipment worth 20 million euros. Among others, the leasing company will focus on funding for local authorities and public institutions this year.
