21.09.2007, 18:28 15

Romanians who earn above-average incomes can open a current or investment account with a Swiss bank the size of Credit Suisse through Swiss company Universal Financial Group (UFG), according to company representatives. "UFG came to Romania to encourage individuals with high incomes to invest in Switzerland. The expansion of the international group, which provides financial consulting services, will focus on fresh and dynamic markets such as Romania," states Sorin Mihail Riznic, senior director with UFG's Romanian unit. The role of UFG's domestic unit is to identify potential customers who are interested in opening a current account with Credit Suisse and to collect information on customers' financial backgrounds. The final decision on whether a customer is eligible to open a Swiss account is made in Geneva. The minimum sum required to open an investment account ranges between 50,000 euros and 100,000 euros. Once transferred into the Credit Suisse account, the money will be invested in funds managed by Universal Asset Management, which invests on the Asian, US and West-European markets.
