Toyota Romania, general importer of Toyota vehicles, will launch the Auris hatchback family model in the summer of next year shortly after its commercial launch on the European market at the beginning of 2007, said Ioana Marinescu, the official in charge of the Japanese brand. The launch of the model, designed and manufactured in Europe, aims to improve the image of the Toyota brand on the European market and to consolidate the presence of the manufacturer on the C segment, the most important one on the European market. The car, derived from the Auris Space concept presented in Paris, will also help the company achieve the 1.2 million-euro target set by Toyota for 2008. Available with three or five doors, the model can be equipped with two 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre petrol-powered engines, as well as with two 1.4-litre and 2-litre diesel engines. All engines comply with Euro IV pollution standards.
