20.03.2006, 00:00 11

The Body Shop Romania, the holder of The Body Shop Greece franchise in Romania, posted 1.6 million euro turnover in 2005, higher than budgeted and 15% higher than in the previous year, said Dana Tudorache, The Body Shop Romania''s executive manager. "The growth is due to the development of the cosmetics market and of our network through the opening of the shop in Plaza Romania (Bucharest) last November," stated Dana Tudorache. She added that The Body Shop had also opened a store in Timisoara, during the same period of time. The company has six stores, four of which in Bucharest, one in Constanta and one in Timisoara. According to The Body Shop representative, 30% of the turnover came from the bath products, 10% from accessories, 15% from makeup products and 13% from perfumes. The Body Shop official said the company''s strategy did not include expansion of the network this year. "We operate best in malls. We know there''s a surge in offers for malls (for the company to be presented in malls i.e.) in every city of the country, but we are very selectively looking to those that can provide optimum operating conditions for our shops," Tudorache added.
