Stefan Vuza's stock exchange wealth rises 5 times to 67m euros this year

Businessman Stefan Vuza made around 54 million euros (234million RON) from the appreciation of the shares he holds in sixcompanies listed on the Stock Exchange, which are all part of theServiciile Comerciale Romane (SCR) group he controls. Vuza, one ofRomania's biggest industrialists, holds 84.12% of chemical plantChimcomplex Borzesti (CHOB) through A2 Impex in Ploiesti. Despitethe fact that the plant slipped into the red halfway through thisyear, its value rose over 10 times on the Stock Exchange, to 65.5million euros (280.6 million RON). This compares with a 55% risefor the Bucharest Stock Exchange's main index, BET. However, theshare appreciation was done amid low transactions. The chemicalplant saw a 50% turnover decline in the first six months of theyear, to 10.5 million euros (44 million RON) and stepped into thered, with 2.8 million euros (12.2 million RON). Another companycontrolled by Stefan Vuza, which posted a significant increase thisyear is Uzuc Ploiesti (UZC), specialising in technology equipment,which the businessman wants to delist from the Stock Exchange thisyear.
