Staer International Galati expects an increase in turnover once it has expanded its network of stores, stated Mirela Gotescu, marketing manager of the company. After expansion, the furniture manufacturer anticipates deriving a turnover worth 40 million euros, a 70% growth against 2005, when turnover stood at 23.5 million euros. The Staer network currently comprises 39 stores in 26 counties, with a total display area of 25,000 square metres. By the end of the year, the company estimates that the total number of stores it will own will be 50. Staer invests some 100,000 euros to open a showroom. "In September, we will inaugurate the biggest Staer store, with a total surface area of 2,500 square metres, located in Bucharest - in the Colentina area, close to the Carrefour hypermarket," said Gotescu. The company is considering opening franchised stores and inaugurating a mini-mall in Varna, Bulgaria. ZF
