27.03.2008, 20:12 10

Somaco, the Bucharest-based construction supplies manufacturer, controlled by businessman Stefan Radulescu, is in talks with several foreign players in the industry to secure a partnership, which will help it launch a larger investment programme. Finnish group Consolis, one of the leading prefabricated concrete products makers in the world, is interested in becoming a shareholder in Somaco, which was appraised at 50 million euros. Somaco posted about 100 million RON (30 million euros) in turnover last year, an increase of 60% on 2006 and will invest about 5.5-6 million euros this year in logistics and forms for prefabricated concrete products. "We are now appraising the company in order to attract a partner that will provide a capital inflow, which will enable us to begin a larger investment programme. There are many construction supplies manufacturers that are interested in our business, but we have not reached an agreement yet. One of the companies we are in talks with is Consolis, one of the leading prefabricated concrete products makers in the world," Mihai Carcota, general manger of the company told ZF.
