06.02.2007, 19:20 18

Scania Romania, the general importer of the Swedish brand, in collaboration with two independent dealers, will invest about five million euros in building four vehicle service facilities in Bucharest, Constanta, Sibiu and Cluj, Scania's manager for Romania, George Lopanov stated. "The Sibiu and Constanta projects will be developed by two local dealers, and the other ones will be conducted by us (i.e. Scania Romania). The average investment in such a project will reach about 1.2 million euros". The facilities will be concluded by September. The HLV Transilvania dealer has started working on a vehicle service facility in Talmaciu, Sibiu county, and Hub Dacia will build a similar facility in Constanta. Scania Romania intends to expand its dealer network to 15 from the current 4 by 2009. Scania Romania estimates to sell about 500 new trucks this year, 57% more than the level seen last year. The company last year held a 7.3% market share on the segment of over 18-tonne vehicles and witnessed an approximately 11 million-euro turnover.
