Businessman Octavian Radu, founder of RTC group, which registered a 260m-euro turnover last year, closed Depozitul de Vinuri company, one of the most important bottled wine importers, after talks of a possible sale failed to lead to a deal. Last year, Depozitul de Vinuri tripled its turnover in RON against 2005, to more than one million euros. However, company representatives say that in developing the business the company took resources that were too large, which was another reason why the decision was made to fold the company. Octavian Radu also said there had been talks concerning the sale of the business, both with domestic and foreign distributors, but the small size of the business made the interested parties decide not to buy into the company.
