Romprest Service, in which investment fund 3i (one of the largest global players in its field), took over a 30% stake, plans to conduct investments worth 12 million euros in 2008, in a new division. "We have recently set up a subsidiary, Romprest Energy, which will exclusively handle 'waste-to-energy' projects over the next few years, i.e. converting waste into energy by incineration. We have already launched our first project, with foreign partners from Italy and America, which will entail a large-size incinerator and require an investment estimated at 12 million euros. We are hoping to conduct this project in 2008," said Florin Bolchis, vice-president of Romprest. The company also operates three divisions: one that handles airport cleaning services, a sanitation division, a road maintenance and repair division, and a subsidiary, Romprest Security. The company provides integrated services on the facilities management market. Facilities management includes all cleaning and maintenance services required for a building, shopping or industrial centre from the time of its construction, to when it is functioning.
