Rompetrol's refining company posts 61% lower profit

Rompetrol Rafinare (RRC on the stock exchange), the main company of petroleum group Rompetrol, led by businessman Dinu Patriciu, posted net profit worth 1.8m euros (6.7m RON) in the first six months of the year, down 61% against the 4.6 million-euro (15.4m RON) net profit recorded during the same time last year. The company posted a 1.2 billion-euro (4.4 billion RON) turnover in the analysed period, up 75% against the 689.4 million-euro (2.29 billion RON) turnover reported in the first half of last year. The results are calculated based on Romanian accounting standards. RRC recovered in the second quarter of the year and posted a profit worth 41 million RON (11.2 million euros), after losses worth 34.3 million RON (9.3 million euros) in the first three months of the year.
