Piraeus Bank to triple network

Piraeus Bank Romania plans to open 50 branches by the end of next year. At present, the bank operates a network of 18 units and is to open another two over the following period. a??We want to reach an optimal territorial coverage through Piraeus Bank network this year. Soon, we will open another two units in Bacau and Suceava,a?? stated Irene Papadopoulou, manager of the banka??s network. Greek financial group Piraeus entered the Romanian market five years ago, by acquiring Pater Credit Bank, and has since applied a restructuring, consolidation and development strategy. When it entered the domestic market, Piraeus had only two branches. a??Over the last three years, we have invested in our own infrastructure by expanding the branch network and launching new financial-banking products.
