Petrom has increased prices for all diesel products sold through Petrom and PetromV stations by 0.09 RON, however, the price of petrol will remain the same, the petroleum company announced. Top Euro Diesel 4 will cost 4.03 RON/litre, OMV Sprint Diesel 4.08 RON/litre, and Euro Diesel 4 - 3.95 RON/litre. Petrom raised the price of diesel by 0.08-0.09 RON/litre two weeks ago, however, Petrol prices will remain at the same level as set when the last increase (0.06 RON/litre) took place on March 7. Petrom's pricing policy, which has been in force since the beginning of 2005, is based on the international price trends of petroleum products, as well as the context of the domestic market. According to a company release, Petrom's prices can vary by plus or minus 5% from the reference prices. Petrom operates about 450 stations in Romania, approximately 100 of which are PetromV's that comply with international quality standards. The petroleum company posted turnover worth 12.98 billion RON (3.89 billion euros) in 2007, down 6.8% on 2006, while net profit fell 22% to 1,778 billion RON (532.7 million euros).
