Partnerships push Compa Sibiu profits up tenfold

24.08.2004, 00:00 12

In the first half of this year, car components producer Compa Sibiu registered tenfold higher profits as compared to the first six months of last year, and a 65% sales increase as compared to the similar period. Over the last few years, the company has initiated partnerships for the manufacture of car components with international companies such as US group Honeywell Garett or the Japanese Koyo. Such projects have involved investments of several million dollars. The increase in the company's sales (and implicitly in profit) has been the result of these collaborations. Honeywell and Koyo car components are produced by Compa's facilities. These have been modernised in recent years, mainly with regard to the two contracts. Total investments worth 7-8 million dollars have been made by Compa and the two companies. The company also has a collaboration contract with the German group Bosch. Compa's H1 turnover stood at 735 billion ROL (22 million dollars), amid profit worth 53.7 billion ROL (1.6 million dollars). ZF
