Palplast to invest 3.5 million euros in manufacturing

17.03.2008, 19:04 11

Polyethylene piping maker Palplast, held by the Rompetrol group, intends to build two more production facilities- one in Romania and one abroad, as part of an around 5 million dollar (3.5 million euro) investment programme over the next two or three years. The company currently owns two production facilities in Sibiu and in Calarasi. "The company will be able to make total investments worth approximately 5 million dollars over the next two or three years, both in buying new equipment and in the development of new production facilities, one in Romania and one abroad. We will be able to establish the exact amount required for investments and the time it takes to carry them out based on the results of feasibility studies," Sever-Costin Cobianu, general manager of Palplast told ZF. One of the reasons why Palplast officials are considering two new factories is the high transport costs, which do not allow exports to be delivered over great distances.
