Coca-Cola HBC Romania, the largest producer of soft drinks on the local market, with turnover estimated at over 450 million euros, will cut its number of employees by 20%, after it transfers 500 employees involved in distribution to specialised companies. Thus, according to ZF estimates, the local Coca-Cola bottler will be left with 2,300 employees at the end of the outsourcing process to Aquila, OTZ and Semprest. "Until now, a large share of our employees have opted to continue their activity within the three companies," said Mugurel Radulescu, public relations and communication manager of Coca-Cola HBC Romania. The local branch of Coca-Cola Hellenic is in the process of rendering its business more effective, after it decided last year to move the plant in Bucharest, which employs 125 people, to the city of Ploiesti, and laid off 100 employees who refused to relocate. The former plant in Bucharest has been turned into a warehouse.
