Orkla Foods Romania, the local subsidiary of Norwegian group Orkla Foods, last year saw a 40% increase in its revenues, after integrating the businesses acquired in 2006. "Revenues witnessed a 40% organic growth in terms of value, with the bulk of it resulting from the acquisition of Royal Brinklers (a transaction completed in June 2006)," stated Aliz Kosza, CEO of Orkla Foods Romania. Company representatives did not specify the turnover made by the group in 2006 on the local market, but according to estimates based on the growth rate of the business, the cumulated turnover of OFR stood at around 40 million euros last year. According to the company's CEO, tinned pat?, tinned meat and ketchup were the most dynamic categories in the company's product range last year. "The hotels, restaurants and coffee shops sector and other modern retail outlets saw the biggest growth," added Kosza. In less than three years, the local branch of the Norwegian group made three significant acquisitions (Topway Craiova, Ardealul Covasna and Royal Brinklers Romania).
