Investment fund Oresa Ventures will take over a stake in Gemini Capital Consult, a brokerage firm handling banking loans. The acquisition will involve a complex transaction with share purchases and subsequent investments, ZF learnt from sources on the financial market. The value of the transaction stands at 3 to 5 million euros and the deal is expected to close next month. Oresa representatives were unable to provide any comments on the transaction. The Gemini business, a brokerage firm which last year handled bank credits worth around 60 million euros, was built and developed by Adrian Stanciu (photo) and Constantin Dumitrescu, former managers at Xerox. They withdrew from the business, while Anca Bidian, CEO of the company, stayed on as a shareholder and still heads the company. Gemini recruited two managers from HVB Bank, who have taken over top management positions within the company. In the beginning, Gemini brokered bank credits from HVB for individuals. The brokerage firm now sells credits for HVB, Piraeus Bank, Bancpost and OTP. Gemini relies on almost 100 sales agents and now intends to expand its team to 200. Last year, Gemini posted revenues worth around 1 million euros, while this year the firm's target is to double the value of brokered credits. According to financial analysts, banking loan brokerage for individuals is estimated to be one of the strongest financial service deals for the next decade. In Poland, retail brokers account for about 20% of the retail sales market, whereas in Romania brokers hold only 2% of the market. Gemini is the current market leader, with Magazinul de Credit and Direct Credit as its main brokerage rivals.
