OMV appoints new legal head

08.02.2005, 00:00 21

The new management of Petrom, which was formed after the takeover by Austrian company OMV, has appointed Marian Dinu as head of its legal department. Dinu was previously part of the Linklaters team that provided legal services to the Romanian state during privatisation of the petroleum company. Marian Dinu, 31, is a lawyer specialising in corporate and finance law and a former managing associate of the Bucharest office of British law firm Linklaters. "The head of legal department position was vacant and Marian Dinu was hired on a management contract," Gheorghe Constantinescu, Petrom's chief executive, told Ziarul Financiar. Dinu had been involved in the Petrom-OMV case since 2003 as a member of the team of negotiators representing the Romanian State. It was in this capacity that he came to the attention of OMV, that chose to bring him on board as head of the company's legal department. ZF
