Nike distributor opens three stores in Constanta

Elmec Romania, Nike distributor domestically, has expanded in Constanta by opening a store under the sport brand, with the next two stores to be launched this month under Miss Sixty&Energie and Folli Folie brands. Since late 2007, Elmec Romania, part of Folli Follie Greek group, has taken over and expanded the network of jewellery stores with the same name to four stores. Investments in fitting the three stores are put at around 500,000 euros, taking into account sums previously invested in development. Domestically, Nike network includes 23 stores, with the brand contributing the most to total sales of Elmec Romania. This was also the reason why the company extended the distribution contract to 2011. On the fashion side, Elmec owns 14 monobrand stores, in addition to six multibrand stores. Though most players in this sector are complaining about sales declines, which have made them give up expansion plans, the Greek apparel and footwear distributor continued its development to the extent of the available spaces. In early 2009, it invested over half a million euros in three stores opened in the Republic of Moldova on 500 square metres.
