The Board of Directors of drugmaker Terapia Ranbaxy has announced the appointment of a new chief executive, Dragos Damian (photo), who will take over this position from the current CEO of Terapia Ranbaxy, Peter Burema, as well as the position of Ranbaxy President for Europe, CIS, Africa and Latin America. Dragos Damian has been Terapia's commercial manager over the last two years, having kept this position at Terapia Ranbaxy after the takeover. Damian will remain in this position even after his appointment as chief executive. Dragos Damian is a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy of Cluj-Napoca and has been working in the pharmaceutical industry since 1993, having held various key positions in leading multinationals. "We intend to expand and consolidate the commercial team next, which is currently composed of 300 people, to become the best, the most efficient and the most professional commercial team on the Romanian pharmaceutical market. At the same time, my goal will be to modernise the entire activity of the company, which numbers more than 1,000 employees." Damian said his medium-term plan was to prepare Terapia Ranbaxy to become a strong platform for the Romanian pharmaceutical market, as well as for other pharmaceutical markets in the European Union.
