09.07.2008, 17:44 13

Italian low cost airline MyAir, one of the top three operators on the local market, transported 180,000 passengers to and from Romania in the first half of the year, 20% more than the same time last year. MyAir had 420,000 passengers in 2007, up from 220,000 in 2006, with Romania being its second most important market, after Italy. The company intends to introduce new flights as of this autumn, in addition to the 32 flights on the Romania-Italy route at present. "Starting in September, we will operate flights from Timisoara to Milan and Venice," said Antonio Iervolino, a MyAir official in Romania. Flights departing from Timisoara are the first flights to be operated by MyAir from the provinces, with prospective destinations in Romania including Cluj and Craiova, according to previous statements from company representatives.
