Miele, the German manufacturer of premium home appliances, hascome to manufacture all the additional parts it needs globally with90 staff, one year after setting up the first component plant inEastern Europe, in Braşov.
"We have developed gradually, and currently have 90 employeesworking for the company, with one in four of them being previouslyunemployed. Over the next few years the number of employees couldreach 300, which would ensure additional personnel for productionof electronic components," Hartmut Hohaus, general manager of MieleTechnica, local subsidiary of the German group, told ZF.
Miele Technica, with 3.6 million euros in turnover in 2009, issending products manufactured in Braşov to production facilities inGermany for assembly. Fridge freezers that sell for 4,000 to 22,000euros, ovens costing around 5,000 euros, and wine coolers worthover 3,000 euros are brought back to Romania.
