Microsoft anticipates 35% increase in revenues

The revenues of Microsoft Romania, the local branch of the world's biggest software producer could go up by 35% in the fiscal year ending June 30, 2008. "Last financial year we witnessed a 53% increase in business, and this year we forecast an increase of 30-35%," stated Silviu Hotaran, general manager of Microsoft Romania. According to the Finance Ministry, the company posted 4.04 million euro net profit in the calendar year 2006, while turnover stood at 16.33 million euros. Hotaran specified the company average annual growth rate (CAGR) in the last three years was approximately 50%. "We have to find ways to maintain this trend. European funds are an important potential growth factor, to which we have not had access until now," Microsoft official said. He also talked about the success of certain "local experiments", such as selling software applications based on pre-paid cards or the "family education PC" project.
