The overall cargo traffic to and from the Constanta, Midia and Mangalia sea ports in 2002 reached a five-year high, totalling 40.5 million tonnes, up about 20% from the previous year, according to data provided by the Maritime Harbours Administration in Constanta. The highest increase in overall traffic in 2002 was registered by Midia, 228.8%, while the fluvial traffic through the Constanta Harbour went up 25.3%. The maritime traffic through the same port was 13.2% higher. The Harbours Administration says all the components of the maritime traffic, that is imports, exports and transit, have registered significant growth. Exports totalled 14.32 million tonnes last year, up 24% from 2001. Exports of oil products and exports of ferrous and non-ferrous metals were 55% and 60.64% higher last year. ZF
