Hungarian low-cost company Wizz Air estimates to double its turnover this year, as well as passenger numbers on the local market, as it continues to target the top position, after it ranked second among domestic low-cost carriers in 2007, according to the reported data. Wizz Air posted an approximately 30 million-euro turnover in its first year on the Romanian market, which contributed to around 10% of the group's overall business. "We estimate we transported 415,500 passengers to and from Romania, and the target set for 2008 is around one million," said Natasa K?zm?r, corporate communications & public affairs manager of Wizz Air. In terms of passenger numbers, Wizz Air managed to take the second position on the low-cost market, after Blue Air, and outranked companies already established on the Romanian market, such as MyAir, which estimated to transport around 330,000 passengers in 2007, and SkyEurope.
