Automotive parts manufacturer BOS Automotive Products Romania, a branch of the German company BOS GmbH &Co.KG, estimates business worth 50 million euros for 2006, a 40% increase against last year, having recently become one of the direct suppliers for the Dacia Logan model. "Annually we will supply 50,000 sets of textile components for car interiors to Dacia Logan, after concluding preliminary contractual talks with a Romanian manufacturer. The first order will be delivered in September," stated Ger Joris, general manager of BOS Automotive Products Romania. The biggest share in the company's turnover is held by exports to Western Europe and Turkey, to customers such as Skoda, Opel, BMW, Ford and Volkswagen. "Investments this year amount to some 2.7 million euros and have been geared towards the acquisition of equipment necessary for the new projects we've undertaken," said Ger Joris. The German group entered the Romanian market in 2001 by setting up BOS Automotive Products Romania in Arad, in the Curtici-Arad Free Trade Zone. The Germans chose Arad due to the fiscal incentives provided by the Free Trade Zone, as well as the proximity to other plants of the group. Total investment conducted in Romania by BOS Automotive Products will reach 20 million euros by the end of the year.
