Ipso exits Dacia-Renault, Sixt and Serus buy the dealerships

Ipso Automobile, one of Renault-Dacia's oldest dealers andformer importer, sold its business to Israeli Sixt New Kopel andSerus Renault-Nissan dealer. The Otopeni centre was taken over bySixt New Kopel, in a deal worth almost 6m euros, and the Ploiestidealer was taken over by Serus, the biggest Renault-Nissan dealerin Bucharest, with 22m-euro turnover, up from 21.5m euros in 2008,and income worth more than 2m euros, according to the company'sofficials. This is the first deal on the Romanian market where acompany sells a car dealer, but also the first exit from the carmarket. Ipso's Otopeni centre was taken over by Sixt after the dealwith Eurohold group failed. Ipso officials could not be contactedby edition close. "We'll officially take over Ipso Ploiesti dealeron May 3rd. Until now, we had only Renault and Nissan in ourportfolio, and only Dacia service, but now, given the developmentof the brand and Duster launch, we also want to go into sales,"stated Matache Rusea, who owns Serus together with his brotherAdrian Rusea. The value of the deal was not revealed, but accordingto ZF estimates it has not gone beyond 2m euros. Serus will investalmost 3m euros in the construction of a new centre in Ploiesti.
