Inflation and economic situation are Romanians' main concerns

Romanians do not expect an economic recovery to take place verysoon. Half of them believe the impact of the crisis on jobs has yetto peak, with negative trend yet to be felt. Only 14% of thecitizens believe the Government acted efficiently against thecrisis and only 4% of them believe the domestic economic situationis good.

Alongside the Irish, the Greek and the Spanish, Romanians arethe most sceptical Europeans, according to data in the Autumn 2010Eurobarometer published yesterday by the European Commission in all27 EU member countries.

For 50% of Romanians their main personal problem is the priceincrease. This is also the main concern in EU 27, for an average of38% of the population.

Ranking second among the personal concerns of Romanians (for 39%of respondents) is the economic situation, with only an average of25% of the population of EU countries sharing this concern.

80% of Romanians say the Government responded inefficiently tothe crisis, but all across the EU the perception is that thegovernments had a poor response (63% EU 27 average).
